About Daniel D. Michaels DPM, MS, FACFAS

 

Dr. Dan MichaelsOriginally from Dallas Texas, Dr. Michaels now regards the Baltimore-Washington area as home. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, from Southwest Texas State University. Following that, he completed a prestigious program culminating in a dual Masters and Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine degree from the California College of Podiatric Medicine affiliated with the University of California, San Francisco and Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA.

Dr. Michaels completed his internship and residency at VA Connecticut Healthcare System, West Haven Campus, Yale University School of Medicine Clinical Campus. During that time he studied peripheral nerve, plastic and reconstructive surgery. Upon completion of his residency he served as Podiatriac Foot & Ankle Fellow and Chief Podiatric Surgical Resident at the University of Maryland, Medical Center, Baltimore. He specialized in lower extremity trauma and reconstructive foot & ankle procedures.

Dr. Michaels wishes to combine his educational background with his advanced clinical and surgical training to provide foot and ankle healthcare to all his patients. His interests include heel pain, diabetic foot care, sports medicine, treating pain and neuropathy. In addition, he wishes to utilize his Masters degree in Education by making himself available for lecturing to groups or organizations on topics on lower extremity care from diabetic foot care to lower extremity sports medicine and geriatric medicine.

In his free time Dr. Michaels enjoys spending time with his wife and family, and outdoor sports such as running, tennis, biking and skiing. Dr. Michaels looks forward to treating your foot and ankle needs in the near future with Comprehensive Foot & Ankle Care®.
